Slab jacking - also called pressure grouting, mud jacking, lifting or stabilising - corrects the difference in level between concrete slabs and stops slabs moving, by pumping grout beneath the slab to fill voids and lift it back to level.

When a concrete pavement is not properly sealed at the joints, water enters the pavement sub base and softens it. The pumping action from traffic loads then develops voids under the slabs, which causes slabs to become unstable and uneven.

Substantially - there is no demolition, no replacement slab and no long closure. The pavement is lifted, stabilised and back in service quickly, deferring the much more costly complete reconstruction.

Keep water out of the sub base. Joint sealing carried out early enough can defer and even eliminate the need for slab jacking by preventing the water ingress that creates the voids in the first place.
